Drug treatment center help is available for those who suspect that they may have a problem with drugs or alcohol and benefit from intake to a drug treatment center. One of the common myths about alcohol or drug addiction problems is that there is a difference between alcohol treatment and treatment at a drug treatment center. On first glimpse into a drug treatment center, people quickly see that alcohol and drug abuse problems affect persons from many backgrounds and it is not readily apparent as to who uses what. Here is a list of drugs and descriptions. Included are signs and symptoms of each drug of abuse and method of ingestion. The abuse of these drugs can be treated at a drug treatment center. Prescription drug abuse can be treated at a drug treatment center. Prescription drug abuse generally begins with a legitimate medical problem that requires treatment with drugs that may be prescribed for pain or anxiety. Generally these do not include all prescription drugs but are limited to pain medication and anxiolytics. These medications cause physical dependence over a period of time and are among the most difficult drugs to quit using. Signs of prescription drug abuse are as follows. Having the same medication prescribed by more than one doctor. Multiple bottles of what are essentially the same thing. Example: Lori tab and Violin or xanax and ativan. Going to multiple pharmacies. Filling someone elseÇs prescription. Pills in unmarked bottles or plastic baggies. Finishing a prescription early and being overly concerned with refills. Cocaine is one the most commonly used illegal drugs that can be treated at a drug treatment center. Signs of cocaine abuse include high levels of agitation, a tendency to anger easily, especially over little things, enlarged pupils, and anger. Cocaine paraphernalia includes glass pipes, syringes, mirrors with powdery residue and rolled dollar bills. Cocaine itself is a white powder that may be kept in a small plastic baggie, glassine envelope, folded magazine paper, or small vial.
Methamphetimes have similar effects as cocaine but much longer lasting. Methamphetamine abuse can be treated in an inpatient drug treatment center. Methamphetamine users are prone to violence and may exhibit extreme paranoia, even thinking that their friends and family are involved in plots to harm or incarcerate the user. Like cocaine, Methamphetamine, also known as 'speed'Ç is a white or off white powder although it may be in the form of a translucent 'rock'.
